Local restaurant chain Steel Cactus got us very excited for fall with the release of their new menu item, The Bird! Pittstop was welcomed to an early taste testing last night &we were not disappointed.
The authentic Mexican style Cantina just got a little bit more unique with a new thanksgiving inspired dish. The seasonal recipe includes turkey basted with a sweet sage butter, whipped sweet potatoes, herb mashed Yukon gold potatoes & corn relish packed into a 12 inch tortilla. Oh that’s it? Not even close. It’s topped off with a slightly spicy queso gravy. If your mouth isn’t watering yet you can add a side of cranberry quac to that mix.
Our first bite was like thanksgiving dinner exploded in our mouth. Kind of like a KFC bowl on steroids. Not to mention the surprisingly delightful savory/sweet combo that the quac brought our taste buds. We’ve never tried anything like this! Their chefs really out did themselves.
Grab this dish starting this coming Saturday the 16th through December 1st. Check out Steel Cactus locations here!
