Besides being the cutest place we’ve ever seen, Pittsburgh Farm & Forest has a lot to offer. Located in the heart of Bloomfield, this garden oasis is the perfect place to unwind with your succulent friends.

When I first stumbled upon it, I had just walked in out of the bustle of Pittsburgh traffic on a miserable rainy day. As soon as I took my first step inside the cozy corner store I was immediately calm and all my worries faded away. Soft music was playing, a lavender scent from a nearby diffuser misted in the back ground, and rain tapped on the glass windows  as I peered deeper inside.

A group of women were chatting with glasses of wine as they picked their favorite containers for their cacti and moss to have a home.

The owners host workshops often for their guests to come in and have a night of good old fashioned planting fun with their friends.

The couple behind Farm & Forest

They are Meg and Josiah Leisher. Josiah’s background is in horticulture and Meg has always had an affinity for all things home and garden. They sit on a 30 acre forested lot outside of Pittsburgh with their three children.

It’s so beautiful and peaceful out there, and we wanted to find a way to incorporate more of that into our everyday lives.

It all began by starting a flower farm in the middle of the forest, and that very day Farm & Forest was born.

Workshops & Events

Farm & Forest has several events coming up including a BYOC (Bring your own container) Spring Break Workshop on Thursday April 13th for only $15! Just register online before the event and they’ll provide the stuff that goes inside!

If you’re already thinking about Mother’s Day, Farm & Forest is hosting a Fairy Garden Workshop for the holiday on May 13th. It’s the perfect mother-daughter bonding time, I wish I’d brought my own!

And you’re in luck….

Because Pgh Farm & Forest just announced that they’ll be operating normal storefront hours starting this Thursday April 13th! Their hours will be Thursday-Saturday 12-6pm. Special plant requests can be made by contacting the owner on Facebook or her website.

What they’ll be selling

Besides the workshops, Farm & Forest will be selling fresh cut flowers, terrariums, house plants, candles and other home goods. They’ve also made available a Summer Flower Subscription where you can have fresh flowers delivered weekly!

So get down to Pgh Farm & Forest and help out a small business! Any place away from home that can make you feel at home is doing something right.
